Parking: Each house has its own outdoor private parking space, while guests can share extra parking spaces at the property's parking lot, situated at the entrance of the complex, in order to contribute to the peaceful nature of the resort.
Access: The resort is a 12min drive from the main port of Aegina Town and a 5min drive from the port of Souvala. The island of Aegina has extremely easy access by frequent high-speed boats (Flying Dolphins) or car-ferryboats that depart every hour from the Port of Piraeus, the main port of Athens. It takes 35 minutes by Flying Dolphin and an hour by ferryboat. The port of Piraeus is within 30 minutes by car or 50 minutes by train from Athens International Airport. Supermarket and gas station are only a 2min drive away.
Convenience: Having a house on the island of Aegina is becoming a popular thing among Athenians. The reason is the convenience of having a holiday house so close to the city, thus having instant access to services and facilities. In fact many Athenians live on Aegina during the summer months and commute to their jobs by Flying Dolphin or ship. Aegina combines the tranquillity and traditional character of the Greek islands with the convenience of living 35 minutes far from a European city. As a matter of fact one can go for a swim in the morning, catch a Flying Dolphin to Athens at midday, run errands and still be back home on time for lunch. In addition, since Aegina is located in the sheltered Saronic gulf, sea going-traffic rarely gets interrupted due to strong winds which is the case for most Greek islands during the winter and mid summer months.
Aegina: Aegina is a small island in the Saronic Gulf, just 31 kilometers (19 miles) from Athens' port of Piraeus. In fact, Aegina is visible from the mainland on a clear day. Aegina is surrounded by gently sloping hills covered in pistachio trees. A while ago someone thought to plant the entire island with pistachio trees and today Aegina is the number one producer of pistachio nuts in the world. Aegina's three main cities are Aegina Town, Agia Marina and Souvala, all of which have ports and are accessible by ferry from Athens. Buses regularly connect these cities. Aegina is a serene and traditional Greek island with great history. During the peak of its power, Aegina built several temples befitting its status, two of which survive today. The most important one and the best preserved is the Temple of Aphaia, a daughter of Zeus. It was built in 480 B.C. to celebrate the victory over the Persian fleet at Salamis. It is a superb example of Late Archaic architecture built in the style of the Parthenon and happens to be one of the best preserved temples from that period in Greece.
Situated halfway between Piraeus and the Peloponnesian mainland, Aegina was directly in the middle of the ancient trade routes. As a result, Aegina quickly became a major player in international commerce. In ancient times, Aegina was a rich and powerful city-state in a constant power struggle with nearby rival, Athens. The island was also the first Capital of modern Greece in the early 19th century. For the first two years after Greek independence (1821), Aegina served as the capital of Greece and there are several old buildings in Aegina Town from this era. These old official buildings lend an historical ambiance to Aegina Town.
